A Russell Westbrook triple-double is hardly breaking news at this point, and he had his 35th of the season in a win against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, scoring 18 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 14 assists.
Russell Westbrook got a triple-double without missing a single shot
He didn’t miss a shot from the field or free throw line.

But this triple-double was especially noteworthy.
By going 6-of-6 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line, Westbrook became the first player in NBA history to record a triple-double without missing a field goal or free throw attempt.
After learning about his incredible feat, he gave the most Westbrook answer possible:
Interesting indeed, Russell.
For what it’s worth, Draymond Green accomplished a similar feat twice last season — going 9-of-9 from the field in a triple-double performance against the New York Knicks in Jan. 2016. Two months prior, he shot 4-of-4 from the field while garnering a triple-double against the Phoenix Suns.
But Green missed two free throws in each of those outings, keeping him from two potential perfect games.
Now-retired NBA journeyman Bo Outlaw shot 4-of-4 from the field in a triple-double performance while playing for the Orlando Magic in 2000, but also missed two free throws.
Westbrook needs six more triple-doubles in Oklahoma City’s 11 remaining games to tie Oscar Robertson’s record for 41 for a season. If Wednesday’s game was any indication, he should have no trouble breaking the Big O’s record.
