LeBron James is going dark on social media during the NBA Playoffs. Again.

LeBron James’ annual things-just-got-real blackout is upon us. He took to Twitter and Instagram last night to announce he’s entered “Zero Dark Thirty-23” mode, in which he abstains from social media for the duration of the NBA Playoffs:

It’s hard to imagine this graphic will be strike fear into his opponents, but Zero Dark Thirty-23 LeBron is nothing to laugh at. James seemingly flips a switch during the playoffs, and he’s not going to let anything distract him in his quest to defend last season’s title.

James announced a similar social media blackout — by literally posting a picture of total darkness — before the 2016 Playoffs, which culminated in a historic comeback against the Golden State Warriors for his third NBA Championship.

While the Cleveland Cavaliers are still the favorite to come out the East this season, they’ve faltered and appeared vulnerable in recent weeks. The stakes are higher than ever — and if the King wants to retain his throne he’ll need to be as locked in as possible.

But, he’ll need to get through Lance Stephenson and the Indiana Pacers first:
