Carter is 40 years old but still capturing the hearts of young fans. He’s supposed to be retired right now — or riding out the final weeks of his career. Instead, he’s playing 25 minutes per game on a playoff team.

“A ‘64 Chevy, it needs a lot of maintenance,” Carter said last week. “You always gotta stay working on it just to keep it running correctly. That’s kinda how I treat my body.”
Because of how smart he’s been in taking care of his body, even the younger generation will remember Carter for how great he was, not as a washed-up version of what he used to be.
