Jazz-Clippers series
Within the first 20 seconds of Game 1, the Utah Jazz lost the most important player on their team in Rudy Gobert. It seemed as if the momentum of Utah’s first 50-win season in seven years was all but gone. But the Jazz put up a fight against the Clippers the entire night. Despite having lost arguably the best defensive player in the league, the Jazz found a way. Then thanks to a Joe Johnson buzzer beater, the Jazz stole home court advantage and stunned the Clippers.
Game 2 was an entirely different story. While the Clippers couldn’t capitalize on the missing Rudy Gobert in Game 1, it’s all they did in Game 2. They poured in 60 points in the paint, including an 18-point, 15-rebound night from DeAndre Jordan. The Jazz were able to hang around to an extent but Chris Paul took over late and put the game away for good finishing with 21 points and 10 assists on the night.
