Utah looks to pull off the impossible and steal a game against Golden State in Oakland.

The Warriors put the cap on a 67-win season by battering the Portland Trail Blazers, sweeping them in the first round. They did it in part without Kevin Durant, who missed Games 2 and 3 with a strained left calf. Instead, Golden State relied on its two-time reigning MVP in Stephen Curry, who averaged 29.8 points throughout the four-game series.
In sweeping the Trail Blazers, the Warriors earned more than a week’s worth of rest in between games.
Unlike Golden State, Utah has had little rest since finishing its first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. That series went seven games, with the Jazz claiming victory on the Clippers’ home floor. Utah took advantage of a Los Angeles team lacking Blake Griffin, who suffered a season-ending toe injury in Game 3. If the Warriors’ injury woes are left in the first round, it will be a long road for the Jazz to beat the odds against the NBA’s walking Goliath.
Utah was the beneficiary of some timely hooping by Joe Johnson, who turned the clock back for some impressive crunch-time performances against the Clippers. He’ll need to be equally as clutch in the second round, as will Utah’s stars in Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert, if the team wants a shot at staying afloat against a potent Warriors squad.
Game 1 could shape the outlook for the entire series. Here’s how you can watch on Tuesday:
