LeBron James turned his weaknesses into strengths in masterful Raptors sweep

The King was unstoppable.

LeBron James was on another level, even for him, as he annihilated the Toronto Raptors in a clean sweep. The Raptors had nobody on their bench who could even mitigate James’ talents, and in turn, he went into superhuman mode from the jump.

LeBron averaged 36 points per game on 57 percent shooting over the course of the series to go along with 8.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Somehow his weaknesses became his strengths, too.

Known as an okay three-point shooter and an average free-throw shooter, James was spectacular from both areas.

He sunk 13-of-27 shots from deep on varying levels of difficulty. That’s good for 48 percent. He didn’t often have much room to release, and was often fading from the hoop.

Sometimes he made the shot more difficult just for the hell of it.

James shot 83 percent from the line as well, a big reason for his high point total. He took 54 free throws and made 45 of them. This season he shot 67 percent from the free throw line on seven attempts per game. He went there 13 times a night during this series.

LeBron has played the minimum eight games it takes to reach the Eastern Conference Finals, maximizing his opportunities to rest, and that’s given him fresh legs to dominate the Pacers and Raptors.

He’s averaging 34 points on 56 percent shooting, nine rebounds, and seven assists in the playoffs as a whole, and there’s no sign he’s slowing down.

The Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards should be frightened.
