D’Angelo Russell is leaving Los Angeles and headed to Brooklyn after the Lakers traded the point guard and Timofy Mozgov to the Nets. Russell was at one point the future in L.A., but had quickly started to become an afterthought. Now, the Nets will be his team, and since Russell is the centerpiece of a rebuild in Brooklyn, can someone start giving this man some high-fives?
Nets must surround D’Angelo Russell with people who will high-five him
Someone give this man a high-five, please.

Exhibit A: Here is Russell trying to get a high-five from either Nick Young or Julius Randle, but neither are interested.
Exhibit B: This is the missed high-five recovery of a man who has been left hanging way too many times.
Maybe the worst of all was when he celebrated like crazy after a Larry Nance Jr. dunk while Kobe stared off into the distance, pretending Russell did not exist.
Russell had a rocky, but exciting two years in Los Angeles. Here’s to hoping his time with the Nets is the fresh start he needs, and may he have all the high-fives.
