The Las Vegas Summer league has been nothing short of exciting. Players like Lonzo Ball, Dennis Smith Jr., and Kyle Kuzma had strong performances in this single-elimination tournament. The remaining teams in the playoff bracket will have Friday off, as the losing teams will all compete in consolation games.
NBA Summer League schedule 2017: Times, TV channels, and live stream for Friday in Las Vegas
There are 16 teams that will play in consolation games tonight.
There are eight games on tap for Friday. You may not be able to watch every matchup, but there are two of them you should keep an eye on.
Jazz forward Eric Griffin has been a stat-sheet stuffer over the past two games, averaging 15 points, 10.5 rebounds, and four blocks. Griffin, 27, went undrafted in 2012 and has played overseas and in the NBA G league since then. Griffin can carve out a roster spot in the NBA if he keeps playing like this.
Bucks shooting guard Rashad Vaughn averaged 16.5 points over the last two games and has been playing really well over the summer. Like Griffin, Vaughn has a chance to make an NBA roster by maintaining his level of play.
Suns fans have to be impressed with rookie forward Josh Jackson, who averaged 17 points and 11.5 rebounds over the previous two games. Jackson, the No. 4 pick in this year’s draft, has the length and strength to terrorize opposing players on the court. He can crash the glass on both ends of the floor, and he bulldozes his way to the basket for easy shots. Jackson has a lot of potential.
Even though Sacramento received quality production out of rookie point guard De’Aaron Fox, rookie forward Justin Jackson is averaging 16.5 points over the last two games. Jackson is a prolific scorer with length and athleticism. He’s skilled enough to create his own shots and maneuver his way to the basket. Look for him to have a strong performance against Phoenix.
