Chris Bosh’s time with the Miami Heat is over as the Heat announced on Tuesday they would be waiving him. While Bosh could still make a comeback with another team, this means his career is likely over due to health concerns, which is unbelievably sad for Bosh and the entire NBA family. After announcing the Heat would waive Bosh, they also confirmed that no other player would wear No. 1 for the Heat.
Heat retiring Chris Bosh’s number is absolute right thing to do
Miami waived Chris Bosh after he missed the entire 2016-17 season due to medical issues.
It was the right and only thing to do in terms of handling the end of Bosh’s time in Miami. Bosh’s time with the Heat was cut short after being such a huge part of the team’s dominance from 2010-14. From the signing of the Big 3 to back-to-back wins in the NBA Finals, Bosh has left his mark on Heat history.
Remember his game-saving block in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals?
Or the time he scored 37 points and hit this game winner against Portland?
Or this?
And this?
And always this?
It’s a great gesture for the Heat to retire his number and the absolute right thing to do.
