Anthony Davis is on MVP watch, and 5 other things from Tuesday night

Nobody can stop The Brow.

Anthony Davis poured in 48 points on 16-of-34 shooting, and grabbed 16 rebounds in a completely dominant effort to beat the Celtics in overtime, 116-113. Fans in Boston have longed for The Brow, who’s been involved in trade rumors, and his play on the road could only make them pray harder that their team makes a move for him.

Over his last three games, Davis has scored 129 points on 49-of-87 shooting and pulled down 42 rebounds. That’s pretty good!

It’s time to start entertaining his name in MVP thought, as he’s averaging 27.2 points and 10.6 rebounds on 56.1 percent shooting from the field and 34.7 percent three-point shooting. It’s unreal to think that he’s just 24 years old.

For now, he’s New Orleans’, and it appears the Pelicans are playoff-bound if things stay as they are. The team is currently No. 6 in the West, which is more than impressive given their lackluster backcourt.

It’s time to fear the Davis and DeMarcus Cousins tandem.

Arron Afflalo tried to throw a knockout punch at Nemanja Bjelica

The Magic’s 108-102 win came mostly without Arron Afflalo, who was ejected along with Nemanja Bjelica for their fight in the second quarter. Afflalo partially connected on a punch that forced Bjelica to put him in a headlock.

The two exchanged words a few plays before the major incident, but things escalated quickly.

After the game, Bjelica said he only put him in a headlock just to calm him down and protect himself.

Surely a suspension for at least Afflalo is coming.

Devin Booker gets BUCKETS

The Phoenix Suns are hard to watch at times as they slowly rebuild, and Tuesday night was no different. The Suns only lost 118-111 to the Blazers, but they trailed by 20 or more for most of the game. Devin Booker was enough reason to keep watching, though.

Booker scored 43 points on 29 shots. He finished 5-of-12 three-point shooting, and 10-of-10 shooting at the line. His jumper is so pure.

Booker is averaging 25 points per game on 39 percent three-point shooting this season. In just his third year, he’s solidified himself as an elite scorer.
