LeBron James made first return to Cleveland to play the Cavaliers after he left the franchise for the Los Angeles Lakers in July, and the Cavs tribute video for him was warm. The video, which featured James’ accomplishments both on and off the court, was played after the first timeout in the first quarter.
Cavs thank LeBron James for making Cleveland a champion with touching tribute video
In James’ first return, he didn’t get a tribute video. Eight years later, Cleveland does right.

This video was a whole lot better than the one that didn’t exist after James spurned the Cavs for the Miami Heat in 2010. The mood has changed about No. 23.
The scene was a whole lot different from eight years ago, where James was boo’ed to a degree we’ve never seen before in his first return back to Cleveland. James had no fans in the arena back then.
On Wednesday night, with James in a Lakers uniform, the crowd was much more forgiving, cheering the franchise’s best-ever talent, who came back and won the city a title. James held a hand up and waived to the crowd after the video finished.
Winning solves all problems, it seems.
