Josh Hart says Chipotle tastes better with their plastic forks, and he’s right

There’s not science to this, but we’re deciding to call it a factual statement anyway.

Lakers guard Josh Hart frequents Chipotle, like many of us do. On Monday afternoon, he tweeted out a very simple, but accurate statement with regards to the restaurant:

Now, Hart doesn’t specifically mention Chipotle’s plastic forks. However, I do think it’s safe to assume that he’s not picking his meal up and seeking out one of those wrapped up plastic cutlery sets that contains a lesser (white) plastic fork, knife, and Stale-Ass Napkin That You Don’t Actually Use.

I don’t know what type of science it would take to prove Hart’s statement, but I’m going to declare it factual. It’s similar to how a car drives better when it has a full tank of gas.

Can I prove that? No, I can’t.

Do I think that to also be a statement of fact? Yes, I do. At least it feels that way.

Chipotle forks are different from even regular plastic forks you might get in bulk at your local grocery store. They don’t have a super glossy and slick feel to them, and are more durable than your average piece of plastic cutlery.

Chipotle knows it, too:

They’re a perfect utensil to use when you’re heaving that delicious burrito bowl into your gullet. In the instances where you may be hungrier than usual and attack your food with a little more vigor, it’s better to operate with a Chipotle fork instead of a metal one.

A metal fork also just feels out of place in a Chipotle burrito bowl. You and your burrito bowl are like a couple on a date, and the metal fork is the awkward third wheel.

In the rare moments (OK maybe not so rare) when I’m playing video games, watching a movie, or binging a show and am too locked in to go get some Chipotle, I’ll Postmates my meal. When the food arrives, and there’s not one of those plastic forks in my bag, my heart sinks a little. The food is still good, but the experience isn’t the same.

The inquisitive citizens of Reddit inquired about where to get these utensils about seven months ago, and came up with a seemingly legit link for them thanks to a Chipotle worker.

Though, if you’re reading this and agree with Hart, then you’ve probably already been taking an extra fork or two anyway just like you do when you grab too many napkins.
