Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday became the first teammates to have 40-point games in the postseason since the 2016 Finals, and just the second since at least the 2000-01 season. As the New Orleans Pelicans closed out a sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers in Saturday’s Game 4, it was clear that the win could be almost solely attributable to those two stars.

They combined for EIGHTY-EIGHT points.
The numbers just don’t make sense: two players combined for 88 points on 30-of-47 shooting. Davis had 47 of those points, needing just 24 shots to get there. He’s the backbone of the team’s defense, too. Here’s one of his three blocks, but make no mistake — his impact is much greater than that counting stat.
And then there’s Holiday, who scored 41 points of his own while hitting 15-of-23 from the field along with eight assists. After a video review reversed an out-of-bounds call, Holiday took advantage of the free possession and buried this pull-up dagger.
Look man. When Holiday is doing things like this on the basketball court, what are you supposed to do?
And then, of course, there are the moments where Holiday and Davis link up together.
Davis’ 47 points was a new scoring high for this postseason, a new franchise playoff record, and a personal playoff best. The Pelicans are the first seed rated No. 6 or lower to sweep a first round playoff series, and it sent Portland spiraling to their 10th straight postseason loss.
