Wizards forward Otto Porter will miss the rest of the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Toronto Raptors to undergo a procedure on his left leg, according to the Washington Post’s Candace Buckner. The procedure is to “address a buildup of blood flow in the area of his contusion.”
Wizards’ Otto Porter to miss rest of series vs. Raptors to leg injury, per report
This is a brutal loss for Washington.

Buckner added that Porter had an MRI on Friday, and doctors didn’t like the buildup around the contusion.
This is a costly loss for Washington, which is heading into a possible elimination game against the Raptors on Friday night. The team trails 3-2 in a best-of-7 series.
Porter has dealt with a few small injuries towards the end of the season. He injured his ankle in late March, and missed the final game of the regular season to a calf strain.
“You could tell when O.P.’s been healthy and when he’s not,” John Wall said to the Washington Post. “When he’s not slashing and cutting to the basket, you can tell he’s dealing with something. He’s probably been dealing with it for a while, but he’s been going out there and giving us everything he’s got as a teammate. And we respect and appreciate that as much as possible.”
Porter’s scored below his season average of 15 points in every game this series, but the Wizards have made a surprising run against the top-seed Raptors. Still, his production will be missed for a team not known for a strong bench. Mike Scott is likely to take the bulk of his minutes.
The Wizards and Raptors will play in Game 6 on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET, and Game 7 on Sunday if necessary.
