Game 1 has a pretty easy summary if you need one. Everything went well for the Celtics and nothing really went well for the Sixers. Philadelphia missed a total of 21 three-pointers, which allowed Boston to run and attack all game long.
Celtics’ full team effort gets 1-0 series lead on Sixers

For the Celtics, they couldn’t have asked for a better game to star this series, with Jaylen Brown sidelined. They got a full team contribution led by Terry Rozier, Jayson Tatum, and Al Horford. The Celtics ran an eight player rotation, with all eight players scoring. Rozier led the way with 29 points, Tatum with 27, and Horford with 26 points.
This is only the Sixers second loss since March 17. Joel Embiid led the way with 31 points and 13 rebounds but it was a rough night for the rest of his teammates. It’s hard to imagine the Sixers will shoot this poorly again and this is a long series. Philly also seemed to suffer from a little rust after having six days off since their last game.
This will be a long series but Game 1 was a wonderful team effort from Boston.

For the Sixers, they look as if they haven’t played in a week, and they haven’t. They’re shooting 37 percent from the field and are 1-of-14 from the behind the arc. You have to assume they’ll start hitting their shots at some point.

Pregame:
Terry Rozer is still mad at Eric Bledsoe.
The Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics are old pros when it comes to playoff rivalries with one another, though it’s been awhile since the former was good enough to keep it going. But in this Eastern Conference semifinal matchup, they should be more than up to the task of giving the Celtics a run for their money.
