LeBron James had a brilliant first half in the Cavaliers’ first game against the Warriors in the 2018 Finals. So good it was almost comical.
LeBron James was basically perfect in the first half of the NBA Finals
Nobody is slowing The King down yet.

James opened the game making his first six attempts from the field, finishing 9-of-11 for 24 points in 20 minutes. That’s how Cleveland took a 56-56 tie into the half. With the Warriors missing their best LeBron-stopper, Andre Iguodala, the King ran rampant.
He played an inside-out game for the majority of the opening minutes, forcing Golden State to respect his range, which in turn opened up the drive. And LeBron didn’t hold his tricks back on the big stage.
Like this ridiculous Statue of Liberty layup over David West:
And this lay-in after blowing past Draymond Green on the perimeter:
Shaun Livingston tried to stay in front of The King, but nope. He ran right past him for a dunk:
Of course scoring wasn’t the only skill on display in LeBron’s eighth consecutive Finals debut. He finished the half with four assists, including this perfect lead pass to Kevin Love.
This is what James does, and has done since the start of his career.
Against the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, he scored 34 points per game with nine rebounds and nine assists. Against the Raptors in the conference semifinals, he scored 34 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists. In the first round against the Pacers, he averaged 34 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.
The King has been fire despite this being his 15th long, exhausting season and his 33 years of age.
It doesn’t look like anyone will ever be able to stop him.
