DeMarcus Cousins will sign with the Warriors and NBA players have some THOUGHTS

Most of those thoughts are “WHAT!” and a smattering of emoji.

The Warriors, the team that people claim “broke basketball” with their incredibly stacked roster, broke it again on Monday when they signed DeMarcus Cousins, a four-time NBA All-Star for just $5.3 million.

Cousins is recovering from a torn left Achilles and is not expected back until late in the regular season, but if he regains even a small portion of his pre-injury greatness, the Warriors have indeed made an absolutely ridiculous move that should have the ever-improving West shook.

There have been plenty of reactions right out of the gate, and many of them are great. Let’s start with Joel Embiid, frequent Tweeter of Things.

The NBA Players Association, in a since-deleted Tweet, also commented on it, screenshots are forever though.

Cousins’ new teammate, Stephen Curry, was quick to welcome him to Golden State as the “third splash brother.”

Jared Dudley of the Suns was next with this gem:

How about Sam Dekker of the Clippers? He had a whole lot to say about it.

Oh, Embiid had some more to say and it’s just perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Jae Crowder of the Utah Jazz has no idea what’s happening anymore.

How about Bobby Portis of the Bulls?

Nick Young, a pending Warriors free agent, was impressed:

And another soon-to-be teammate of Cousins:

Are you getting the picture? Patrick Beverly of the Clippers next:

Why not some Michael Carter-Williams?

And here’s SB Nation’s Warriors site, Unstoppable Baby, just catching up.

Oh my God:

Of course, there are thousands upon thousands of reactions to the news out there. A large amount of people think this is unfair and that serious changes need to be made to the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement to prevent “superteams.” More specifically, some think the West is just absolutely ridiculous now compared to the East, and something probably should change.
