Furkan Korkmaz was an absolute flamethrower in the Philadelphia 76ers’ first Las Vegas Summer League game, scoring 40 points on 18 shots in a 95-89 loss to the Celtics. To give you an idea of how much Korkmaz dominated, the next-highest scorer in this one had 16 points.

Korkmaz scored the fifth-most points in NBA Summer League history, making him an absolute July NBA legend. (Anthony Morrow holds the record at 47 points.)

You might recognize Korkmaz already because this is his second year in Philly. He was the team’s No. 26 overall pick in 2016. He hasn’t played much — he was on the court for 80 whole minutes last season — but he’s only 20 years old.
Maybe he deserves a shot!
Whatever happens for the rest of his career, Korkmaz will forever live a Summer League phenom.
