Isaiah Thomas, the sparkplug powering the best team in the Pac-10 this year, has some pretty strong opinions. Asked to describe his Huskies to ESPN The Magazine, he said simply, “Swag. Put that down for us. We have the most swag in the conference.”
Isaiah Thomas—Not Isiah—Explains The Pac-10 (And Society, In General)
Indeed, that’s a pretty swaggerific way to answer a question about the upcoming season.
So, obviously, when ESPN asked him to sum up the college basketball landscape in this year’s Pac-10, he had to break it down for them:
On Arizona State: “I don’t even know who’s on that team anymore. They’re slow. They play so slow it’s draining to play against them.”
On USC: “I think of Reggie Bush and football when I think of that school, not basketball. I don’t even know who their coach is.”
On Oregon State: “Craig Robinson, Obama’s brother-in-law. That’s all I think about with them.”
...And can anybody really argue with him? The only thing remarkable about Oregon State is the Obama connection. USC? Reggie Bush and football. Arizona State? Herb Sendek could make an orgy seem tedious. Admit it: Isaiah makes some good points. And to the people upset about his comments? He has a message.
So... I guess this means I have new favorite player in college basketball?
Yeah. Definitely.
