No. 1 Connecticut had the ball with a one point lead, eight seconds left on the clock and two seconds left on the shot clock. Connecticut had to inbound after No. 2 Baylor star Brittney Griner blocked a shot out of bounds. Suffice it to say, it wasn’t enough and the Connecticut women’s team extended their record winning streak to 80 games, defeating again the team they dispatched in the Final Four last season.
