The Huskies did get one final look, an open three-point attempt by C.J. Wilcox, but couldn’t convert as Wilcox didn’t even hit the rim. The win gave Michigan State third-place in the hotly contested tournament after the Spartans lost a winner’s bracket game to UConn on Tuesday.
Michigan State improved to 2-1 in Maui and took home the third-place crown. Washington suffered back-to-back losses after an impressive win over Virginia in the opener to fall to 1-2, good for fourth place.
