Welcome Back College Basketball!

Yes, we’re still caught in the throes of college football fever, the NFL has about ten different teams that could win the Super Bowl, and the Miami Heat have made the NBA more interesting than ever. But in case you’re not entertained, college hoops is here to help.

↵And in addition to Chris Dobbertean’s viewing guide for November and a wildly premature look at this year’s field of 65 tournament teams, this 2010-11 overview at The Awl was great. Aside from a broad look at the contenders on this this year’s landscape and what will be the story of 2011 (spoiler: DUKE), the final paragraph explains college basketball to the outsiders:

↵↵Anguish, sloth, goofiness, disgust, unsightly basketball, unseemly rule evasion, delusional fanaticism, maddening inconsistency, frightening sideline behavior, unbridled bitterness. Yep. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

↵↵Yes, unbridled bitterness especially.

↵God I hate Duke.

↵But if you’re a college hoops fan, you have to admit: it’s kind of nice to have them back.
