VIDEO: Renardo Sidney Brawls With Teammate Elgin Bailey At Diamond Head Classic

It's been a bad trip to Hawaii for Mississippi State's Renardo Sidney. The highly-touted big man was suspended for the Bulldog's opening round match-up in the Diamond Head Classic against Washington State on Tuesday after an incident at practice. The Bulldogs dropped their opening round game to Washington State, but rebounded with Sidney on Thursday to defeat San Diego. Sidney scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.

And then this happened on Thursday night in the stands of the Diamond Head invitation.

That's Sidney in the gray shirt, throwing haymakers at teammate Elgin Bailey.

Sidney was one of the top recruits in the nation out of high school, but has disappointed ever since. Originally headed to USC, Sidney ended up at Mississippi State after questions surrounded his recruitment leading to a year-long suspension, plus another nine games, by the NCAA after it was found he received improper benefits. Now that he has a chance, he’s done nothing but squander it, spending more time fighting with his team than showing what he’s capable of on the court.

It’s a shame such talent is going to waste, but at least we got to see a fun brawl in the stands. I’d be shocked if this wasn’t the end of his career at MSU, in college basketball and, perhaps, ends any chance of an NBA career. Hope those two games and that brawl was worth it for him.
