Kansas State’s Jacob Pullen Won’t Play In The NIT, Hates Boxed Wine

You probably remember Kansas State's Jacob Pullen for his heroics in last year's NCAA Tournament. Or perhaps it's just the totally badass chinstrap beard that you remember. In any case, it's hard not to love him. And it's only getting harder. From Campus Corner:

↵↵... Jacob Pullen compared playing in the NIT to drinking boxed wine.

↵“This is my last go-around,” Pullen said. “I’m not going to the NIT. I won’t play basketball in the NIT. I’m saying that now. If we lose, and we have to go to the NIT, I will not play.”

↵↵It’s pretty great to see a player openly call the NIT what it is: some off-brand, homeless person’s version of the NCAA Tournament. But come on. Pullen’s a college student. Doesn’t boxed wine sorta come with the territory? As they say, it’s not homeless if you’re in college!

↵The NIT, though... Definitely homeless. So, college semantics aside, here’s to hoping Pullen makes it to the Big Dance instead of that crappy house party over in New York City. More Jacob Pullen seems like it’s everyone’s best interest.
