The game itself has been a back-and-forth affair with no team leading by more than four points at any time.
The story is still Jimmer Fredette, though. He’s 8-of-12 from the field, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Whoever wasn’t aware of Jimmer before tonight certainly is now.

Leonard won’t be 100 percent, if he does play. He had to skip warmups before the game due to his flu-like symptoms. But as big as this game is for the San Diego State program, it’s hard to image a player as important as Leonard sitting it out for any reason. Hopefully this doesn’t stir up a Jay Cutler debate, though.

Home field advantage, plus the potential Player of the Year, plus … well, who’s ever heard of San Diego State being a big-name school in a game like this? No offense, but people bet based on brand as much as they do on X’s and O’s.
If the Aztecs’ dream season can continue — remember, this is the team that had never been ranked in the AP top 25 until this year — they’ll need to prove they can compete against the best their conference has to offer.
