Georgetown Hoyas guard Chris Wright contributed 24 points to his team’s 62-59 win over the Louisville Cardinals, with none of those points bigger than his free throw shooting down the stretch.
Louisville Vs. Georgetown Final Score: Chris Wright’s Clutch Shooting Powers Hoyas To 62-59 Win
Georgetown took a three-point lead with seconds left, giving Rick Pitino the option of going for the tie or taking a two and hoping to get the ball back. Terrence Jennings took the two, leaving 4.4 seconds on the clock as Wright went to the free throw line.
Wright nailed both, the Hoyas opted not to foul Peyton Siva, and Siva’s three-point attempt bounced off the left side of the rim.
The Hoyas bounced back from their horrible shooting in the first half to finish with a respectable 46.8 percent, while Louisville never really recovered. The Cards were able to grab 11 offensive rebounds, though, so at least they got to poorly shoot more often.
