Today was not a good day to be a ranked team in men’s college basketball. Seven top 20 teams fell on Saturday.
Kentucky, Missouri Upset On Shocker Saturday For College Hoops
No. 9 Missouri fell at Colorado. No. 10 Kentucky was upended by Georgia. No. 12 Texas dropped a wild game to No. 9 UConn.No. 13 Georgetown lost to West Virginia. No. 17 Kansas State fell to Oklahoma State, No. 18 Michigan State lost to Penn State, and No. 19 UCF took its first loss of the season against Houston.
And UCF’s defeat means only six unbeaten teams remain in Division I-A.
But all of those teams can take solace in this fact: they are not Auburn.
That’s because Tigers’ basketball team is as bad as their football team is good: Auburn managed just six points in the first half against LSU, and trailed 32-6 at halftime.
With a loss, the Tigers would fall to 7-8 on the year, which doesn’t sound so bad. But when you learn that it includes home losses to UNC Asheville, Samford, Campbell, Jacksonville, and Presbyterian, it seems more like par for the course.
