Ole Miss Forward Murphy Holloway Declared Eligible BY NCAA
Ole Miss forward Murphy Holloway has been declared immediately eligible by the NCAA.
According to reports, Holloway was granted a waiver of the NCAA’s year-in residence requirement for transfers. Holloway played two years at Ole Miss but sat out last year after transferring to South Carolina. Holloway chose to walk on at South Carolina, which enabled him to pay in-state tuition during his transfer year before becoming eligible for a basketball scholarship in his junior and senior seasons.
He had left for South Carolina to help care for his daughter, but when the situation changed, he returned to Ole Miss. He still needs to be cleared by the SEC, but that is considered a formality.
Holloway averaged 10.1 points and 7.6 rebounds during his sophomore season.
Holloway was eligible to practice but now he’s eligible for game competition.
