Louisville Cardinals coach Rick Pitino has become The Great Defender of the Big East ever since the Syracuse Orange and Pittsburgh Panthers decided to leave for the ACC and he continued his verbal onslaught during Big East Media Day Wednesday.
Do As Rick Pitino Says, Not As He Does
You’d have thought Rick would have prepared his speech ahead of time. At this point, let’s hope he didn’t because if he decided the following quote was a smart analogy beforehand, he must have the self-awareness of LeBron James.
“My problem is not them leaving,” he said. “My problem is you did it in 48 hours. Don’t run away with a girl after one date when you’ve been dating someone else for three or four years. You’ve been dating this woman for 30 years, show a little respect.”

Just so we’re all on the same page here, including Rick Pitino, the guy who just said Syracuse & Pitt should have show a little respect to the “woman” they’ve been with for 30 years is the same guy who had sex with a crazy lady in a restaurant while he was married to another lady for...wait for it...almost 30 years.
At least he’s speaking from experience.
