The No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels proved why they are the nation's top-ranked team against the Tennessee State Tigers, as they hustled their way to a 102-69 victory. The Heels were led by point guard Kendall Marshall, stating an early case as the nation's top point guard with a 15-assist game while attempting just two field goals, paying homage to '04-'05 Brevin Knight.

The No. 1 Tar Heels ran by the Tennessee State Tigers, 102-69, on the strength of Kendall Marshall’s 15-assist performance.

While Marshall quarterbacked the Heels' offense, star forward John Henson contributed across the board, displaying a more complete game that has him shooting up many NBA mock draft boards. He finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and four blocks while shooting 8-11 from the floor. Reggie Bullock led the Heels in scoring with 23 points on 8-10 shooting, and the Heels were stunningly efficient all night.
They shot 62.1 percent from the floor, 61.1 percent from behind the three-point arc, and assisted on 32 of their 41 field goals, an absurd rate indicative of the unselfish play the Tar Heels are using, a dangerous thought considering how many offensive mouths to feed there are in Chapel Hill.
