As usual, the Maui Invitational is providing another superb matchup on Wednesday night as No. 6 Duke meets No. 14 Kansas in the tournament final. The tournament, which is perennially one of the finest Thanksgiving week slates of games, is just 20 minutes from coming to an end, and if the first half of the matchup between the Jayhawks and Blue Devils is any indication, we’re in for a close finish.
Duke Vs. Kansas Score Update: Jayhawks Leading Maui Invitational Final At Halftime
Kansas holds a four-point lead at the half, 35-31, but it was a see-saw battle for most of the first 20 minutes. The Jayhawks took a slim early lead, then both teams traded punches, with the game staying close until the final few minutes. Kansas began to pull away as the half neared, but Duke stopped a nearly three-minute drought on a Mason Plumlee lay-in to cut the Jayhawks’ lead to four.
Ryan Kelly led the Blue Devils with nine points in the half. Austin Rivers added eight points, and made a few dazzling plays along the way. Tyshawn Taylor and Jeff Withey were each in double-figures for the Jayhawks, scoring 13 and 10 points, respectively.
