Pitt Vs. Wagner Final Score: Panthers Upset By Seahawks, 59-54

The Wagner Seahawks were able to pull the upset over the Pitt Panthers, 59-54.

The Pittsburgh Panthers suffered a surprising upset at the hands of the Wagner Seahawks on Friday night, 59-54. The Seahawks took the lead in the first half, outscoring the Panthers 29-25.

Pitt wasn’t panicking early, being down just four points, but to start the second half Wagner went on a 14-7 run to increase their lead before Pitt was forced to call a timeout and collect themselves. All in all the Panthers just couldn’t do enough offensively, never getting back within less than four points of the Seahawks.

For Wagner, Latif Rivers led the way putting up 18 points with three rebounds. Jonathon Williams also picked up seven points with eight rebounds off the bench. For Pitt, Ashton Gibbs led the Panthers in scoring with 14 points and was the only player with double digit points in the upset loss.
