The Vanderbilt Commodores dominated the Marquette Golden Eagles on the road, taking a 44-22 lead into halftime. The Commodores went on an early 7-2 run before Marquette sank a couple of free throws, but Vanderbilt stepped on the pedal and went on a 24-6 run before an official TV timeout gave Marquette a chance to regroup themselves.

The Marquette Golden Eagles went down to the Vanderbilt Commodores at home, 74-57.
It wasn't much better in the second half, but Vanderbilt seemed to just coast to the easy victory as Marquette was able to push the final score to something moderately respectable despite being dominated. Vanderbilt forward Jeffrey Taylor led the way scoring for the Commodores with 19 points. Forward Lance Goulbourne also had a big night, picking up 13 points and 16 rebounds. For Marquette, Jae Crowder picked up 16 points with 10 rebounds and four assists.
