NCAA Basketball Rankings: Kansas Takes Over No. 1 Spot In AP Top 25 Poll

We have a new Number 1 team in the latest edition of the NCAA Basketball Rankings. Kansas has taken over the top spot in the AP Top 25 poll after previously-undefeated Ohio State lost to Wisconsin on Saturday. The Jayhawks are 24-1 on the year and have won seven games in a row after a loss to Texas on January 22. They secured the top spot this weekend by blowing out lowly Iowa State.

Kansas picks up 22 first-place votes, which was enough to propel them to the top spot. Ohio State drops to No. 2 in the rankings with just 14 first-place votes, while Texas stays at No. 3 despite having more first-place votes than Kansas (23), a 10-0 start in Big 12 play and a head-to-head win over Kansas.
