While waiting for Blake Griffin to deliver in the Slam Dunk Contest — and deliver he did, dunking over a car — fans could have been forgiven for missing the fantastic Arizona-Washington game. But that would have been a mistake, because on the NBA's day of dunks, Derrick Williams may have made an even more impressive play to seal an 87-86 Arizona win.

↵Williams’ block with 0.2 seconds left saved the Wildcats, who nearly gagged away the game with a turnover on their own baseline with under three seconds left. That came after a rare traveling call against Washington gave the ball to Arizona with a one-point lead.
↵If you haven’t heard of Williams yet, get ready to hear a lot more about him come March. He’s led Arizona to a 23-4 record — 12-2 in the Pac-10 — and is a candidate to be the top pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. With plays like today’s block, it’s not hard to see why.
