It's unclear exactly how it happened, but tthrown into some highlights of Butler's win against the University of Illinois-Chicago was the shot of Matt Howard above, drenched in his own blood.
↵Without any context, it makes you wonder: Did he get bludgeoned on the way up for a rebound? ... Did Brad Stevens lash out in a fit of rage after a missed rotation? ... Was he attacked by bears? ... Or maybe it’s not even HIS blood, and Matt Howard is a cannibal werewolf that finally lost control at the worst time possible. It really does look like he just ate a human being. (At long last, the plots True Blood and One Tree Hill have come together.)
↵Alas, the answer is less awesome than our cannibalistic werewolf tween fantasies--turns out, it was your typical elbow-and-three-stitches routine, and Howard will be just fine. Not nearly as murderous as it looked. Even so... Have you ever seen a player look like that on a basketball court? I mean, GOD.
