Minutes ago, UConn used a game-winning shot from Kemba Walker to upset top-seeded Pittsburgh in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament. And if there were any doubts about Kemba Walker’s credentials as a player of the year candidate, they just went out the window.

Here’s video of Walker’s heroics, courtesy of Mocksession.com:
This is where we all take a step back and say, “HOLY S**T.” ... Kemba Walker, everybody!
The win is UConn’s third in as many days, and with Kemba leading the way, the Huskies are looking better than ever as the NCAA Tournament looms next week. Whatever happens, I’m pretty sure Kemba Walker’s going to be worth watching the rest of the way.
There’s very little rhyme or reason to what happens next week and beyond, but here’s a good rule of thumb--be careful picking against a team with a great point guard. Be even more careful if that point guard is an upperclassmen.
And if that player is named Kemba Walker? Umm... Good luck.
The insane crossover that left Gary McGhee crumbled on the floor, the calm step back, the perfect jumper to cap it all off... Game winner’s don’t get any better than that, and it’s our most emphatic reminder yet that whether you’re talking this week, or later this month, you probably shouldn’t count out Kemba Walker and the Huskies. Ever.
