Big 12 Tournament Championship Game 2011: Kansas Holds Off Texas, Wins Big 12 Tournament With 85-73 Victory
The Texas Longhorns did their best to fight back in the second half of the 2011 Big 12 Tournament Championship, but the Kansas Jayhawks were just too good in the end, holding off Texas to notch a 85-73 victory. Kansas had a 16 point lead at halftime, a lead which Texas cut down to single digits on multiple occasions, but the Jayhawks held firm, hitting a big shot to kill Texas’s momentum every time they had to.
The Morris brothers were fantastic, both putting in complete performances. They scored on the inside, shot well from the outside, got out on the fast break, and rebounded well. All five Kansas starters scored in double digits, while both Tyshawn Taylor and Brady Morningstar did a great job of setting up their teammates, with Taylor notching five assists and Morningstar tallying six of his own.
