VIDEO: Jeff Allen Pegs Andre Dawkins In Face In ACC Tournament
Have you ever played a pickup game and found yourself off-balanced on the baseline and with no other way to save the ball except to peg it off your opponent's leg. Virginia Tech's Jeff Allen was there earlier in an ACC Tournament semifinal game against Duke.
The only problem? Allen didn't throw it off Andre Dawkins' leg. No, instead he decided to throw it off a different body part. Allen wound up and pegged it off Dawkins' face, sending the Duke player flopping into oblivion. (Just kidding on the flopping part -- but it sounds believable, doesn't it).
It's tough to tell whether Allen really was losing his balance or whether he actually was intentionally trying to peg the ball at Dawkins' face, but this game has been chippy, which makes it seem like the latter. Some further evidence for that theory: Allen got hit with an intentional foul later in the game for elbowing Kyle Singler in the face.
Perhaps Allen just has a problem with Duke players’ faces. If so, that makes him like many people in Chapel Hill, College Park and everywhere else in the ACC.
