Ready for March Madness yet, sports fans? No? How about Gus Johnson calling the end of a fantastic game between Washington and Arizona and getting a chance to deem Isaiah Thomas’ great buzzer-beater another “cold-blooded” moment? Will that do?

With that shot, Washington got a 77-75 win over Arizona in the Pac-10 Tournament final, Thomas added two points to an absurd performance — Thomas only made 10 of 16 shots, scored 28 points, dished out seven assists, grabbed seven rebounds, and played every minute of a 45-minute overtime victory — and a thousand speakers broke as a classic Gus Johnson moment unfolded. And to be fair: Gus’ last call might not even have been his best of the night, because this game’s back-and-forth nature gave him ample opportunity to get up for big shots.
It’s good to have Gus Johnson getting as excited as is humanly possible for college basketball again — and even better to know that we’re less than a week away from the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
