    Tristan Thompson Tells Reporters He Will Forgo 2011 NBA Draft And Return To Texas

    Texas forward Tristan Thompson may have had an exceptional freshman season for Texas, but that doesn’t mean his days in Austin are done just yet. Today, according to Yahoo!‘s Jason King, Thompson told a group of reporters he will be forgoing the 2011 NBA Draft to return to Texas.

    Texas forward Tristan Thompson just told a group of reporters that he will return for his sophomore season instead of entering the NBA draftThompson has averaged 13.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Longhorns in his first year in burnt orange since committing to Texas as one of Canada’s finest high school basketball players of this generation. He’s been especially good in Texas’ stretch run, though the Longhorns have struggled: Thompson has six double-doubles in his last eight games, and scored a career-high 26 points against Kansas State on Feb. 28.
