Alabama Vs. Wichita State Score: NIT Championship Up For Grabs At Halftime

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide led the No. 4 Wichita St. Shockers in the 2011 NIT final by as many as five points early on, but with about six minutes to go the Shockers took over. Wichita takes a 37-34 lead into the break.

J.T. Durley leads the Shockers with 11 points and a pair of boards, while Tony Mitchell has added nine points and four rebounds for Bama. It’s been an evenly matched contest overall, with neither team finding much of an edge in any facet of the game.

You may be delighted or horrified to know there are many, many Alabama fans in Madison Square Garden, which has got to be a rare sight. “Roll Tide” chants really picked up at the end of the half, when Alabama was losing. Don’t even let them start chanting “SEC!” y’all, because they’ll do it.

For more on this game, Bama fans should visit Roll Bama Roll and Wichita State fans should head to Mid Major Madness.
