Preston Knowles is the only senior on Louisville's roster. He has been an indispensable member of the Cardinals' squad this year, and he still is, but... goodness God, man, I can't immediately remember seeing a more ill-considered foul.
Louisville’s Preston Knowles Commits Worst Foul In Recent Memory; West Virginia Wins
↵
On Saturday, Louisville led West Virginia, 70-67. The Mountaineers' Casey Mitchell drained a three to tie the game with 10 seconds left. Louisville couldn't sink a last-second shot, West Virginia took the rebound... and then, three-quarters of the way down the court, and with 0.6 seconds left, Knowles fouled Darryl Bryant and sent him to the line.
↵As you probably don’t need to be told, Bryant sunk both free throws, and the Mountaineers end their season with a 72-70 win. My theory: the universe, by hook or crook, was determined not to let the Cardinals win after being out-rebounded 48 to 20.
