Big East fans had a good time watching the Connecticut Huskies reach the Final Four and beat the Butler Bulldogs to take the national title. After the rest of the country gave the conference hell for only putting two teams in the Sweet Sixteen, UConn's run did seem to provide a fitting retort. Sadly, the last laugh is at the expense of our northeastern friends.

Because UConn did not finish the season No. 1. You didn’t know? Northern Arizona Lumberjacks coach Mike Adras’ ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll ballot says so.

I voted for who I thought was the best team in the country based on the entire body of work during the season. I believe it is Ohio State. I want to congratulate Connecticut for winning the NCAA tournament.
This always seems to happen, and it’s the kind of thing Ron Paul would come up with if he were given a college basketball poll ballot. The NCAA tournament isn’t in the Constitution!
He’s got a point, sure, because UConn loafed around for most of the regular season before hitting the switch in Madison Square Garden. But just let the man have his fun, and better luck next year, UConn.
