Lorenzo Charles Dies, N.C. State Basketball Remembers Him As A Player And Person
Ernie Myers, both a former teammate and a long time friend of Charles, managed to sum up both his basketball playing ability and his personality with one quote.
“He had the softest hands, and the softest heart, of any big man I ever knew. The face he had during games was just bravado. Lorenzo was just a fun-loving guy who loved to be around his teammates.”
Charles, who remained active with NC State basketball until his passing, died in a bus accident on Monday.
