Andre Drummond Narrows List Of Schools To UConn, Kentucky, Three Others

Top college basketball recruit Andre Drummond has narrowed his list of schools to five.

Prized basketball recruit Andre Drummond has narrowed his choice of schools to five, and one of those schools is the Connecticut Huskies, Adam Finkelstein of ESPN Recruiting reports.

One of the top two prospects in the class of 2012, and the top-ranked center, the 6-foot-11 Drummond will decide between Connecticut, Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, Georgetown Hoyas, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

“I have great respect for those coaching staffs,” Drummond said according to Finkelstein. “They all have a chance to compete for a national championship, and they are committed to preparing their players for the next level.”

Drummond has graduated from St. Thomas More in Oakdale, Connecticut, but will continue with his plan to do a post-graduate year before entering the Division I ranks.

“My plans for the immediate future are to continue to focus on academics and basketball, and to prepare myself for the future rigors I will be facing on the court and in life,” Drummond said via Scout.com.

Drummond will play this season at Wilbraham & Monson Acadamey in western Massachusetts, where he’ll team with former AAU teammate Kris Dunn, a 6-foot-3 point guard from New London, Connecticut. Like Drummond, Dunn is also considering UCONN and Louisville.
