Kentucky Vs. Tennessee: No. 2 Wildcats Survive, 65-62, On Rocky Top
Kentucky had to rally in the second half to take down Tennessee on the road, 65-62.
Anthony Davis, Kentucky's do-everything center, paced the Wildcats with 18 points, but also added eight rebounds, four blocks, and two steals, and fellow freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 15 points and 11 rebounds. The 'Cats recovered from a 34-28 Tennessee lead at halftime and held Tennessee to just 11 made field goals in the second half.
Tennessee got 15 points and 10 rebounds from forward Jeronne Maymon, and 14 points from Cameron Tatum, but the story early for the Vols was the play of mid-season freshman addition Jarnell Stokes. Stokes, who chose to graduate from high school early and play for Tennessee beginning this month, had six points in the first half and provided bulk up front for the Vols against Davis and Terrence Jones, but was limited in the second period.
