Neither Maryland (12-4, 2-1) nor Florida State (11-5, 2-1) are currently ranked in either of college basketball’s two polls, but their ACC encounter on Tuesday night could vault one of them into the rankings. The Seminoles, in particular, are coming off a rather impressive win over North Carolina, who came into their game last Saturday ranked No. 3 in the nation.
ACC Basketball Schedule, TV Times And More: Florida State Looks To Build On Big Win
When combined with their win over North Carolina, a Florida State win over Maryland could be enough to vault the Seminoles into the Top 25.
Florida State’s 90-57 win, in which the Seminoles outscored their opponents by 35 in the second half, knocked the Tar Heels down to No. 8. A win this week would give the Seminoles a 12-6 record and would seem to at least get them into the national conversation.
North Carolina, meanwhile, will be looking to rebound from that loss with a game against Virginia Tech, a team who has yet to win an ACC game this season. After an 11-3 start, the Hokies have lost three straight, all of them by four points or fewer.
