At one point in the next few years, the No. 1 Syracuse Orange and the Pittsburgh Panthers will be facing each other as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. By then, the teams may be more evenly matched, but Monday night, Syracuse showed how far ahead they are, winning comfortably at home, 71-63.

No. 1 Syracuse ran their record to 20-0 for the first time in school history with a 71-63 win over Pitt, which has yet to win a Big East game.
The Orange pushed their record to 20-0 (7-0 Big East) for the first time in school history thanks to balanced scoring and a huge point guard performance from Scoop Jardine, who had 12 points and 10 assists. Center Fab Melo had his first career points-rebounds double-double — he had 12 points and 10 blocks against Seton Hall earlier this year — with 10 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks.
The Panthers couldn’t get any consistent scoring or offensive efficiency. They shot 39.3 percent from the field, and, though they had five players score nine points or more, no one scored more than 10. They have yet to win a Big East game.
