Michigan State Vs. Michigan: No. 9 Spartans Trail No. 20 Wolverines At Halftime, 36-29

Michigan and Michigan State renew their rivalry on Tuesday, with the Wolverines looking for their third straight win over the Spartans.

The rivalry matchup beteen the Michigan State Spartans and Michigan Wolverines has been as advertised throughout the first half in terms of intensity and quality. It's been a game defined by a series of good runs for each team, with the Wolverines closing the first half with the final six points. They lead by a score of 36-29 at halftime, with John Beilein's team in line for a third straight win over Tom Izzo and the Spartans.

Trey Burke has been arguably the best player on the floor so far, leading all scorers with nine points, adding three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Draymond Green has just five points on 2-6 shooting, but has helped the Spartans' cause with seven rebounds.

Michigan had leads of 13-4 and 30-20 before the Spartans went on a 9-0 run to close within one point, just over 90 seconds from the end of the half. Stu Douglass turned the momentum late, however, converting on a four-point play with 1:33 remaining in the half. Tim Hardaway would score on a pair of free throws to end the half, extending the Wolverines' lead to seven.
